Race Volunteers/Staff registration:

1. To register for a role, please click "REGISTER". Use your NTK Master Member email so we can track credit. Change the name of the worker, if appropriate.
2. Please go to our Alpha Race Registration site, select "Staff / Volunteer Pit Passes," and fill out your eWaiver. To create an account, please use your NTK Master Member email so we can link your membership.

VOLUNTEER BENEFITS: 

• During the Winter Series, volunteers earn Work Credits towards discounts on 2025 membership (up to 8 work credits can be used). Work Credits do not expire.
• Participation in Winter Series and Championship Series events counts as participation credits towards 2024 trailer parking and garage rental requirements
• NOTE: credits go to the worker
• Plus, we couldn't have the race without your help!

Please note: A new rule was voted in to allow corner worker credits for all races in which a corner worker is not "paid by NTK" for their work. This rule will go into effect on March 1, 2025 (so the option is not available for the Winter Race this year).

Race Director*

• TIME: 8a - Race End
• VOLUNTEER: Manage all aspects of the race. NOTE: BOD Member or Appointed
• CREDITS: earns 2 Work Credits (1 participation credit)

Assistant Race Dir*

• TIME: 9a - Race End
• VOLUNTEER: Assist the RD as needed w all race day logistics; hands-on training to be RD; manage fuel/tire pick up
• CREDITS: earns 2 Work Credits (1 participation credit)

Flagman*

• TIME: 12p - Race End
• VOLUNTEER: Ensure orderly and safe race conditions by displaying flags and activating track safety lights. NOTE: with approval of Race Director.
• CREDITS: earns 2 Work Credits (1 participation credit)

Corner Marshall*

• TIME: 10a - Race End
• VOLUNTEER: Warn drivers of dangerous situations on the track, notify RD of potential driving/mechanical infractions, assist drivers to safety. NOTE: 18+, or 16+ with approval of Race Director and President.
• CREDITS: earns 2 Work Credits (1 participation credit)

Grid Steward

• TIME: 10a - Race End
• VOLUNTEER: Manage grid: check wristbands & inspection tags, line up karts, call for engine start, release to track, keep unauthorized people off track, positioning for Happy Hour.
• CREDITS: earns 1 Work Credit (1 participation credit)

Scales

• TIME: 11a - Race End
• VOLUNTEER: Record weights, convey penalties to drivers, notify Scoring as class clears Weight & Tech, keep traffic from gathering at exit to Tech Barn, collect transponders,
• CREDITS: earns 1 Work Credit (1 participation credit)

Tech Helper

• TIME: 1p - Race End
• VOLUNTEER: Assist Tech, mark tires, distribute tech cards to top 3 in each class, assist with collecting transponders.
• CREDITS: earns 1 Work Credit (1 participation credit)

Registration

• TIME: 8:45a - 12p
• VOLUNTEER: Check in drivers and spectators
• CREDITS: earns 1 Work Credit (1 participation credit)

Trash Worker

• TIME: 1-2x as needed
• VOLUNTEER: Empty all trash cans into dumpster.
• CREDITS: earns 1 Work Credit (1 participation credit)

Gatehouse

• TIME: 12p - Start of Finals
• VOLUNTEER: Monitor entry into NTK after driver registration is complete, check in spectators and obtain eWaivers
• CREDITS: earns 2 Work Credits (1 participation credit)
